Re-installation is not a big issue but to install all the packages after re-installation can be some how boring or irritating. We are not always limited with just using the operating system for the task like chatting and some other purposes. We try several things and sometimes  even some bugs forces us to re-install ubuntu or any other operating system.

It's difficult to remember all the list of packages you have installed in your system. Sometimes you may even forget the package name which is really necessary for you. Do you want to get rid of this problem? If yes ,follow the following steps. It will help you install all the packages you have been using currently even after re-installation easily and quickly with no need of remembering package name.

I assume that you have all the necessary packages installed in your system and is currently working.

Step 1: Go to system >>> Administration >> Synaptic Package manager >> File >>> Save marking as

when you click on save marking as provide the filename and then save it some where externally either in your usb drive or home folder(if you have separate partition and will not format it at the time of re-installation).

Lets say at this time due to some reasons you need to re-install ubuntu and you have reinstalled.

Now you need the file which you have saved it earlier and then follow the following steps:

Step 1: Go to system >>> Administration >> Synaptic Package manager >> File >>> Read Markings

When you click on read markings all you need to do is to point to that file which you saved earlier and then select apply to start download and installation of all those packages you had installed previously.

Note: This is handy while re-installing the same version of ubuntu. Be aware when you apply this method with different versions of ubuntu because in newer or older verions the name for the same package or the repository might be different.
